Past Projects & Achievements

Since our inception, Genesis has become a pre-eminent developer of master planned communities in the Calgary metropolitan area and beyond.

Our first development was Silver Woods, in Bearspaw, located on Calgary’s western outskirts. In addition, we have done developments in Brooks, southern Alberta, and in Prince George, B.C. In Airdrie, we have established the communities of Bayside and the Canals. In northeast Calgary, Genesis is building Saddlestone in Saddle Ridge; and we have built Taralake and Taravista in the community of Taradale.

In northwest Calgary, we have developed the community of Sherwood; Sage Meadows and a portion of Kincora in the Symons Valley area.

We will be developing another phase in Kincora, and are now hard at work planning Sage Hill Crossing, a major mixed-use commercial development in Symons Valley. We are also developing Sage Meadows, another mixed-use community.

Now and well into the future, Genesis looks forward to continued growth with the development of unique, forward-looking communities.

Genesis Achievements

Across Canada, Genesis is at the forefront in designing liveable communities. We have pioneered innovative strategies in order to create more pedestrian-friendly, walkable communities. The community of Saddlestone, which Genesis is building in northeast Calgary, is the first community in Canada to be built with a fused grid design. Every Saddlestone resident will live within walking distance of a local park and open space. Saddlestone also includes a rain garden feature, which is a low environmental impact storm water management system.

In Airdrie, Genesis is building two dynamic new communities: Bayside and the Canals. Both communities feature a linear canal system, which is an environmentally responsible storm water management technique design that is not only functional, but also beautiful. Bayside and the Canals have been designed to allow the maximum number possible of walkout lots, with many homes backing onto the water, and plenty of open space. Genesis has designed these communities to allow residents to enjoy leisurely walks around the canal system, which includes pedestrian bridges and an extensive pathway network.

The northwest residential community of Sherwood, developed on the second piece of land that Genesis acquired, won two prestigious Sales and Marketing Awards from the Calgary Regional Home Builders Association in 2004:  Best New Community and Best Show Home Parade.  Genesis has also been a finalist in numerous other categories over the years.
